Ann Frances Bernola

Ann Frances Bernola, 91, of Burgettstown, died Sunday, November 3, 2013, in UPMC-Mercy hospital, Pittsburgh.
She was born June 26, 1922, in Bulger, a daughter of the late Charles and Vincienza Acquisto Tabone.
Along with her husband, “Monk,” she owned and operated Bernola’s Restaurant in Burgettstown, during the early 1950s.
Prior to retirement, she was employed by Petrucci’s Market in Burgettstown.
Mrs. Bernola was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Burgettstown and its Christian Mothers and Catholic Daughters, Burgettstown Senior Citizens and Four Seasons.
She especially enjoyed spending time with family, loving to cook for and cater to them.
Surviving are a son, Charles (Ruth) Bernola of Burgettstown; granddaughters Gina Maria Bernola of Burgettstown and Christina Ann Bernola (Tarris) Brown of Longwood, Fla.; two great-grandchildren, Qwentari Kirk Brown and Louis Brown III; a sister, Vincy Nencioni of Bulger; three sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are her husband, Elmo “Monk” Bernola; and two brothers, Steve and Jim Tabone.
Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Taucher Funeral Home, 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 7, in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Burgettstown, with the Rev. Bob Staszewski, as celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
