Retired Trinity teacher was Faith U.P. Church member
Ruth G. Duncan, 89, of Washington, died Sunday, November 3, 2013, in St. Clair Hospital, Mt. Lebanon.
She was born December 1, 1923, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Thomas E. and Wilba Barber Graham.
Mrs. Duncan was a graduate of Ambridge High School and went on to receive her bachelor’s degree in education from Geneva College.
She taught in North Allegheny School District and retired from Trinity Area School District.
Mrs. Duncan was a member of Faith United Presbyterian Church in Washington and PSEA.
On November 20, 1948, in Ambridge, she married James Raymond Duncan, who died January 27, 1987.
Surviving are two sons, David James Duncan of Ganado, Ariz., and Richard Thomas (Sandra) Duncan of Oil City; a daughter, Carolyn Ruth (Mark) Boggs of Washington; six grandchildren, James and Abbey Duncan, Christopher and Gregory (Mandy) Boggs and Kristina and Thomas Duncan; two great-grandchildren, Sierra and John Duncan; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are three brothers, David, Paul and Wylie Graham; and a sister, Margaret Blackwood.
Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 7, in Faith United Presbyterian Church, 900 East Beau Street, Washington, PA 15301, with the Rev. Jason Hefner officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
