Former Finleyville Borough mayor
William B. “Scubby” Bores, 83, of Finleyville, died Monday, November 4, 2013, in his home.
He was born November 10, 1929, in Finleyville, a son of Joseph Sr. and Tillie Yacunsky Bores.
Mr. Bores was retired as an assistant manager at Cicci Dance Supply in Finleyville and was employed as a driver for Matthews Bus Co. in Eighty Four.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of American Legion Post 613 and Loyal Order of Moose 172, both in Finleyville.
Mr. Bores served as mayor of Finleyville Borough.
Surviving are his wife, Betty J. Miller Bores; a son, William Bores of North Wales; a daughter, Stacey Molenari and husband Jim of Doylestown; a brother, Donald Bores of Finleyville; a sister, Patricia Esworthy of Columbia, Md.; two granddaughters, Macella and Lauren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, Joseph and Gerald Bores.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Kegel Funeral Home Inc., Tim P. Kegel, supervisor, 3560 Washington Avenue, Finleyville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 8, with the Rev. Robert J. Boyle officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills.
