Part owner, manager of Eighty Four Livestock Auction
Clair E. Kearns, 79, of Bentleyville, Somerset Township, died Friday evening, November 8, 2013, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born October 29, 1934, in Carroll Township, a son of Dewey Ray and Clara Eliza Williams Kearns.
A self-employed farmer, Mr. Kearns was part owner and manager of Eighty Four Livestock Auction.
For 50 years, he was an auctioneer of automobiles, estates and livestock, retiring in 2003.
Mr. Kearns was a member of First Baptist Church in Bentleyville.
Surviving are a sister, Edith E. Riggle (Donald) of Bentleyville; several nieces and nephews; and companion Betty McIntire of Bentleyville.
Deceased are his wife, Martha Jane McNary Kearns, and brothers Russell W., Wilber H. and Harry F. Kearns.
Friends are welcome from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Thompson-Marodi Funeral Home Inc., 809 Main Street, Bentleyville, 724-239-2255, where a service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 13, with Pastor Shirley Edgar officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Creek Cemetery, Fallowfield Township.
