Loving mother and homemaker
Paulene Virginia Kemp, 94, of McDonald, went to be with her Lord Wednesday, November 20, 2013, surrounded by her family at home.
She was born June 18, 1919, in McDonald, a daughter of the late Rupert and Geneva Sandidge Smith.
Mrs. Kemp was a loving mother and homemaker. She also worked for a time as a cook at the former Oakdale Boys Home.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of McDonald and the church’s Missionary Society. She was also a member of McDonald Lioness Club.
On March 13, 1941, she married Danie Kemp, who died January 25, 2010.
Surviving are three daughters, Odessa Kemp of Bridgeville, Theresa I. Armstrong and Lenora A. Kemp, both of McDonald; a son, Daniel A. (Cassandra) Kemp of McDonald; six grandchildren, Todd (Traci), Dayna, and Daniel Kemp, Mark Perkins, and Brandi and John Richardson; eight great-grandchildren, Alexcia, Ariana, Jadyn, Josiah and Olivia Kemp, Kamryn Bryce Jackson, Maleeke Lee and Naseem Lee Perkins; and one great-great-grandchild, Rayleigh Kemp.
Deceased are a grandson, Eric Armstrong; three sisters, Aleatha Gaskin, Theresa Ellis and LaVerne Thorton; and a brother, Donald Smith.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Nation Funeral Home Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Avenue, McDonald. There will another visitation from noon to 1 p.m., the time of services, Saturday, November 23, in First Baptist Church of McDonald, 141 N. McDonald Street. Burial will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald.
