Enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports

Robert Armond “Pap” Preaux, 89, of Canonsburg, formerly of Cecil, died Wednesday, November 20, 2013, in his home.

He was born January 24, 1924, in Cecil, a son of the late Hector and Amanda Emplet Preaux.

Mr. Preaux was a member of Cecil American Legion Post 793 and Strabane Slovene National Benefit Society.

He played soccer with the Cecil French Club as a young man and enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. He also liked polka music.

Mr. Preaux worked as a transporter for Mayview State Hospital.

Surviving are his wife, Jacqueline Preaux of Canonsburg; son Robert Preaux of Canonsburg; daughter Cheryl (Ed) Sushacek of Pittsburgh; three grandchildren, Annie Preaux of Canonsburg, Cheyene Edwards of Carnegie and Connor Sushacek of Pittsburgh; first wife, Delores Preaux of Bridgeville; sister Jean (Jim) Thompson of Lawton, Okla.; two stepsons, Barry (Nancy) Endy of Canonsburg and Jason (Stacey) Endy of Canonsburg; two stepdaughters, Karen (Mark) Jacobs of Eighty Four and Janice (Kevin) Quinlan of Sturgeon; six stepgrandchildren, Doug Endy, Matt Endy, Mark Jacobs, Sarah Orris, Dale Quinlan and Raven Porto; and five stepgreat-grandchildren, Noah, Carson, Della, Madeline and Henry.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, is a brother, Thomas Preaux in Vietnam.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday in Coleman-Taylor Funeral Services, 3378 Millers Run Road (Rt. 50), Cecil, where service will be held at 8 p.m. with Pastor Rick Bruckner officiating.

Interment will be Monday in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, with Full Military Honors accorded by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 and American Legion Post 902, Honor Guard.
