Carl Mark Boyan, 85, of Eighty Four, died peacefully Saturday, November 23, 2013, in Consulate Health Care of North Strabane Township, with his wife and niece Catherine Obenour by his side.

He was born April 5, 1928, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Frank and Veronica Belichick Boyan.

Mr. Boyan was a member of Pigeon Creek Presbyterian Church, where he was a past deacon.

He was a member of Croatian Fraternal Union and served as a past vice president of local Chapter 567 of Canonsburg.

Prior to retirement, he was self-employed and worked in the field of reproduction services in the dairy industry.

Surviving are his wife, Ruth Marie Spingola Boyan of Eighty Four; a sister-in-law, Ruth Elizabeth Boyan of Cecil; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Deceased are six brothers, Mike, Steve, George and William Boyan and Joe and Frank Buyan; and three sisters, Katie Brigich, Barb Steiner and Mary Sokac.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Sollon Funeral Home Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director. Services will be held at noon Wednesday, November 27, in the funeral home, with Pastor Eric Powell, Pigeon Creek Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
