Elsie L. Myers, 78, of Washington, died at 11:12 a.m. Monday, September 30, 2013, in Washington Hospital.
She was born March 31, 1935, in Washington, a daughter of the late Robert S. and Rosabella Davidson Lightner.
Mrs. Myers was employed by Washington Hospital in the housekeeping department for 25 years, retiring in 1992.
She enjoyed her family to the fullest, always spending special time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There were always many stories to tell and many laughs to share with the entire family.
On January 21, 1956, she married Robert J. Myers Sr., who died December 31, 1991.
Surviving are four sons, Edward (Anna) Lightner of Washington, Robert J. (Sylvia) Myers Jr. of Apex, N.C., Brian (Suzanne) Myers of Washington and David (Darlene) Myers of Washington; a daughter, Carol Danley of Washington; brother Clarence (Nena) Miller of Washington; sister Dolores Kirsch of Michigan; nine grandchildren, Tammy (Mike) Fewster, Greg Lightner, Christina (B.J.) Bunner, Jeremy Danley, Lexi Myers, Jennifer Myers, Amanda Myers, Robert J. Myers III and Amber Myers; three great-grandchildren, John Robert Bunner, Hayden Fewster and Gavin Fewster; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are two brothers, Arthur Lightner and Richard Davidson, and a sister, Joann Kettle.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., Wilson at East Katherine avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, and S. Timothy Warco II, director. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 4, in the funeral home, with the Rev.
