Mary Frances Thomas, 81, of Prosperity, died Tuesday, October 1, 2013, in Washington Hospital.

She was born May 26, 1932, in Claysville, a daughter of Ray Halsey Taylor and Bertha Opal Pattison Taylor.

Mrs. Thomas attended Lagonda School and was a homemaker.

She was a member of Church of Christ in Washington as well as a Church of Christ in Ohio.

In addition, she was involved with Sage Brush Round Up in Fairmont, W.Va.

On April 11, 1953, she married William P. Thomas, who survives.

Also surviving are three sons, William (Debbie) Thomas of West Alexander, Jeffrey (Trudy) Thomas of Prosperity and James (Josey) Thomas of Zanesville, Ohio; two sisters, Ann Mundy (companion Jay Workman) and Betty (Kurt) McDaid; 11 loving grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Deceased is a brother, Ray Franklin (Barbara) Taylor.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 4, with David Deagel officiating. Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery.
