Former Waynesburg Hospital employee
Freda M. Haines Bails, 91, of Scenery Hill, died Friday, October 4, 2013, in McMurray Hills Manor.
She was born September 7, 1922, in Greene County, a daughter of the late James Irwin and Mary J. Waychoff Haines.
Mrs. Bails was a graduate of Carmichaels High School and Duff’s Business School.
She worked as a caregiver in Waynesburg Hospital.
Mrs. Bails was a member of Fordyce Methodist Church in Garards Fort and an American Legion auxiliary member in Phoenix, Ariz.
On June 2, 1942, she married E. Carl Bails Sr., who is deceased.
Surviving are two children, Elinor (Charles) Ross of Scenery Hill and E. Carl Bails Jr. of Arizona; five grandchildren, Lori A. Ross, Melissa L. Allender, Chad W. Ross, Kaycee Bails and Wesley Bails; seven great-grandchildren; sisters Esther Minerd of Jefferson, Patricia Young of Monongahela and Glenda Hall of New Jersey; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are a daughter, Sharon K. Bails, who died in infancy; brothers Francis, Donald and Halford Haines; and a sister, Louise Carroll.
Friends and family will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of service, Monday, October 7, in Nichol Funeral Home, 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington, with the Rev. Peter D. Asplin officiating. Interment will follow in Lone Pine Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Building Fund, 21 Church Road, Scenery Hill, PA 15360.
