Avid bingo player loved cooking
Nellie M. Stotka, 85, of Brownsville, died suddenly Tuesday, October 8, 2013, in Monongahela Valley Hospital.
She was born April 16, 1928, in Cardale, a daughter of the late Charles and Anna Smizky Suba.
A homemaker, Mrs. Stotka was always active, helping with the family businesses.
She was a lifelong member of St. Michael Archangel Roman Catholic Church and a member of Catholic Daughters of America and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 391.
Mrs. Stotka was an avid bingo player who loved cooking, baking and especially loved taking care of her family.
Surviving are six sons, Charles Stotka (Liz) of North Huntington, Stanley Stotka and Edward Stotka Jr. (Loretta) of Vestaburg, Timothy Stotka and Kevin Stotka, both of Lowhill, and Keith Stotka (Georgia) of Rices Landing; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the last of her immediate family.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her husband, Edward R. Stotka Sr.; two sisters, Frances Bourdess and Anna Mae Suba, and three brothers, John, Stanley and Edward Suba.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Greenlee Funeral Home, 42 Bank Street at Crawford Road, Fredericktown, where a prayer service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, October 11, followed by a 1:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael R.C. Church, Fredericktown, with the Rev. Paul Grunebach as celebrant. Interment will be in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.
