Emily Rohland, 85, of Niles, Ohio, died Thursday, October 10, 2013, in her residence.

She was born May 23, 1928, in New Derry, a daughter of the late Walter and Ethel West Wright.

Mrs. Rohland was a 1947 graduate of Canonsburg High School and employed for 27 years at Delphi Packard Electric, retiring in 1990.

She was a member of First Church of The Nazarene in Niles.

Mrs. Rohland belonged to several quilting clubs, enjoyed quilt making and was a beautiful seamstress. She also enjoyed being outdoors near water. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

She will be deeply missed by her husband George V. Rohland Jr., whom she married June 26, 1949; two sons, George V. Rohland III and wife Theresa of Niles and Mark K. Rohland of Niles; three daughters, Carol Pleiss and husband Chic of Niles, Cheryl Sapienza of Vermillion, Ohio, and Evelyn Humble of Niles; 16 grandchildren, Mark Edward Pleiss, Natalie Anne Pleiss, David Rohland Pleiss, Danielle Hoffman, Cayla Rohland, Gina Rohland, Alyssa Rohland, Stephanie Chonko, Stephen Chonko and his wife Brooke, Emily Chonko, Wayne Rohland and his wife Barbara, Sarah Fieldhaus and her husband Shane, Jennifer Rohland, Matthew Rohland, Michael Rohland and Christina Humble; eight great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Ruth Wright of Pennsylvania; a nephew, James Wright and wife Polly; and two nieces, Judy Becker and Joyce Bartolomeo and husband Dick.

Deceased is a brother, Walter Wright.

Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of service, Saturday, October 12, in Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home, Niles. Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery.
