Irene Elizabeth Lombardo, 79, of Washington, died Wednesday, October 9, 2013, in Humbert Lane Health Care Center, Washington.

She was born January 7, 1934, in Bridgeville, a daughter of Conrad and Harriet Miller Speicher.

Mrs. Lombardo was a graduate of Scott Township High School.

A homemaker, her family was the most important part of her life.

She was Catholic and previously attended St. Patrick Church in Canonsburg. Most recently, she attended Faith United Presbyterian Church.

On June 26, 1954, she married Louis Lombardo Sr., who survives. He was her soul mate for 59 years.

Also surviving are four sons, Joseph Lombardo of Ambridge, Carl (Joanne) Lombardo of Sarasota, Fla., Louis (Janet) Lombardo Jr. of Las Vegas, Nev., and Samuel (Cathi) Lombardo of Washington; a daughter, Lisa Lombardo of Washington; five grandchildren, Kelly Taylor, Jennifer Lombardo, Anthony Lombardo, Dean Lombardo and Carly Lombardo; three great-grandchildren, Grace Taylor, Grant Taylor and Jillian Lombardo; and her dear friend, Karen Sawhill.

Deceased are an infant daughter, Marcy Lynn Lombardo; two brothers, Russell and Dicky; and three sisters, Florence, Dolly and Thelma.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 1 to 3 p.m., the time of service, Saturday, October 12, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with the Rev. Jason Hefner officiating. Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 15 in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. Those attending the burial should meet at the cemetery.
