Served in Army, enjoyed golf

James R. Klawinski, 93, a longtime resident of McMurray, died Wednesday, October 9, 2013, in his home.

He was born November 2, 1919, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Frank and Martha Dominowski Klawinski.

Mr. Klawinski served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a Prisoner of War.

He enjoyed golf, bowling, gardening, playing cards, puzzles, checkers and traveling with his family.

Mr. Klawinski was the beloved husband for 57 years to the late Lillian Klawinski; loving father of Sandi and husband Tom DeBlasio, Linda Lee and husband Gary Lenik and Jamie Ann and husband Aaron Hilpert; cherished grandfather of TJ DeBlasio, Mandy DeBlasio, Brien Hast, Leah Hast, Abby Hilpert and the late BJ Hast; great-grandfather of Brody James Hast; and brother of the late Regina Buckley, Jerry King, Francis Klawinski, Dorothy Lawler, Henry King, Eugene King and Isabel Haid.

Also surviving are many nieces and nephews and caregivers Mary Chechuck, Anna and Jeff Saltis, Debbie Dixon, Theresa Tiozengo, Sharon Richardson, Murph, Carrisa, Diane Angus and Joyce Ferri.

Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday in Beinhauer Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, 724-941-3211. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, October 12, in St. Benedict the Abbot Church, McMurray. Interment will be held in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township.
