Robert B. “Big Dink” Murray Sr., 59, of Bentleyville, formerly of Canonsburg and Fredericktown, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 8, 2013, in Donnell House, Washington.
He was born August 3, 1954, a son of the late Thomas Guy and Margaret Murray.
Mr. Murray attended Bethlehem-Center schools and lived most of his life in the Canonsburg and Fredericktown area.
On June 9, 1973, in Pancake, he married his wife Gloria Jean, who survives. Together they had three children, Robert “Little Dink,” Tracy and Kristy.
He was self-employed and could be described as a “jack of all trades.” He raised Boxer dogs. He loved horses, his long-haired dachshund Ozzie, watching John Wayne and old western movies, working on cars and spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed helping people and had many friends.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Robert “Little Dink” Murray Jr. (Monica) of Clarksville; daughters Tracy N. (Jeff) Briggs of Sandy Plains and Kristy L. Clutter (Ray) of Claysville; granddaughter Casey V. Briggs of Sandy Plains; granddaughter Karlie R. Clutter; grandson Tyler Raymond Clutter of Claysville; brothers Richard “Peanut” Murray of Idaho, William “Bill” Murray Sr. of Richeyville and Charles “Mike” Murray of Carnegie; sister Alice “Cookie” Murray of Washington.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are brothers Thomas “Sonny” Murray, John R. Murray; sisters Katherine “Pee Wee” Sawasky and Marion “Sis” Sampson.
Friends will be received from noon to 4 p.m., the time of service, Saturday, October 12, in Frank Burkus Funeral Home, 26 Mill Street, Millsboro, PA 15348.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to his family.
