White Eagles Society member loved to cook

Jonathan David Wise, 48, of Canonsburg, died Wednesday, October 9, 2013, in his home.

He was born November 12, 1964, in Canonsburg, a son of David and Donna McElhaney Wise.

Mr. Wise was a member of First Baptist Church of Canonsburg.

He worked for Jeffrey’s Drug Store, was a meat manager at Giant Eagle grocery stores and loved to cook. He was a cook at King’s Restaurant, the American Legion Post 902 and Independent Club of Houston.

He enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle.

Mr. Wise was a member of White Eagles Society of Canonsburg, Labor Temple of Canonsburg, Independent Club of Houston, Bears Club in Meadow Lands, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191, American Legion Post 902 and Masonic Lodge. He was a member of Syria Shriners and served as a third vice president of the Washington-Greene County Caravan.

Surviving are father David E. Wise of Canonsburg; brother Albert Darren Wise and wife Tina of Canonsburg; sister Shelley Renee Wise of Canonsburg; niece Mollie; and nephew Jason.

Deceased is his mother, Donna C. McElhaney Wise.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Sollon Funeral Home Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 15, in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Syria Shriners Transportation Fund, 1877 Shiners Way, Cheswick, PA 15204-1075, www.syriashriners.org, in his name.
