Gretchen P. Harvey, 94, of Burgettstown, passed away Saturday evening, October 12, 2013, in Humbert Lane Nursing Center, South Strabane Township.
She was born June 16, 1919, a daughter of the late C.N. and Florence Power.
A graduate of Union High School, Burgettstown, Mrs. Harvey was a member of the former Hillcrest Presbyterian Church and Burgettstown Presbyterian Church.
She enjoyed baking cookies, especially around the holidays, and her grandchildren.
Mrs. Harvey worked as a bookkeeper for Pappas Lumber Co., Burgettstown
She is survived by her children, Morris Lee Harvey and wife, Patty, of Burgettstown, Karen Strope and husband, Larry Jr., of Anderson, S.C., and William Harvey and wife, Linda, of Moscow, Kan.; eight grandchildren, Janet McKnight, Anita Boni, Morris Lee Harvey Jr., Larry Strope, Christopher Strope, Hayley Harvey and fiancé Joe Bellinger, Nikki Moler and Scott Sutherland; and 10 great-grandchildren, James, Zachary and Sarah McKnight, Braden and Kaden Boni, M.J. Harvey, Konnor, Sydney and Kade Moler, and Shelby Sutherland.
She was the last of her immediate family.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her husband, Morris L. Harvey, who passed away November 14, 1985; four brothers, Cye, Sam, William and Bub Power; and a sister, Lois Wagner.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Lee and Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 17, with the Rev. Dan Ekas officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory.
