Madelyn Risbin Folkens, 92, of Washington, died Saturday, October 12, 2013, in Washington Hospital.
She was born February 14, 1921, in Marianna, a daughter of Thomas J. and Sara Ann Quinn Risbin.
Mrs. Folkens was a 1939 graduate of Trinity High School. She was a homemaker and member of Immaculate Conception Church.
On October 18, 1941, she was married by the late Father Martin J. Hughes in Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, to Albert Folkens, who passed away January 17, 2011.
Surviving are a son, James Folkens; a daughter, Sara Ann Godley; a grandson, James Godley (Leslie); twin great-grandsons, William and Timothy Godley; and a sister, Rita Renner of Washington.
Deceased, in addition to her husband, are six brothers, Michael L., Thomas, James, John, Joseph and Robert Risbin; and five sisters, Veronica Crawford, Margaret Serenta, Elizabeth Holub, Mary Beatrice Adams and Wilma Jean Risbin.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 16, in Immaculate Conception Church, Washington. Burial will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, 1028 Benton Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15212.
