William H. Barnhart, 83, of Masontown, formerly of the Greene County area, died Saturday, October 12, 2013, in Washington Hospital following a lengthy illness.
He was born August 8, 1930, in Mather, a son of the late Samuel J. and Nellie Marshall Barnhart.
Mr. Barnhart was a 1948 graduate of Jefferson-Morgan High School.
He was a truck driver for Coca-Cola in Waynesburg for 16 years and later was co-owner of Kleer Kable Co. in Waynesburg from 1963 to 1980.
Mr. Barnhart enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching horse races at Mountaineer Race Track, where he also owned a few horses at one time.
On October 22, 1960, he married Jean Meighen Barnhart, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, William “Doug” Barnhart of Masontown; a stepdaughter, Beverly White and her husband, Ray, of East Stroudsburg; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
