Deemston resident was carpenter

Richard E. Novak, 48, of Deemston, died Saturday, October 12, 2013, in his home.

He was born April 16, 1965, in McKeesport, a son of Kenneth Novak of Mt. Pleasant and the late Carol Hornfeck Novak.

Mr. Novak had been employed as a carpenter with the former Carey Construction Co. in Library.

He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Coal Center.

Surviving are his wife, Alexis Jester Novak; two sons, Luke and Landon Novak, both at home; a daughter, Zenna Novak, at home; two brothers, Dennis and Brian Novak, both of Mt. Pleasant; a mother-in-law, Barbara Broudy; a father-in-law, Alex Jester and wife Paula; four sisters-in-law, Stacey Lucas, Beth Swart, Melany Agnew and Amanda Jester; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be private. Friends are invited to attend services at noon Wednesday, October 16, in Wright’s United Methodist Church, 788 Venetia Road, Venetia, with the Rev. Kenneth Custer of Grace United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Finleyville Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to his children, care of his wife, Alexis Novak. Arrangements are under the direction of Kegel Funeral Home Inc., Tim P. Kegel, supervisor, Finleyville.
