Helen L. Herrington, 84, of Waynesburg, died Wednesday, October 16, 2013, in Golden Living Center, Waynesburg.

She was born December 11, 1928, in Kirby, a daughter of the late Willis E. and Agnes Conway John.

Mrs. Herrington was a retired operating room technician at Greene County Memorial Hospital.

She was a lifetime resident of Kirby.

Mrs. Herrington was a member of Kirby United Methodist Church and later became a member of Claughton Chapel United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed sewing and needlework.

Surviving are her husband, Shirl A. Herrington, whom she married October 17, 1970; two daughters, Julia Ann Moore (Gary) of Irwin and Jacqueline Barnes of Waynesburg; two stepdaughters, Shirlene Snyder and Carol Lynn Kolat, both of Waynesburg; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Betty Lanham and Joan Chambers both of Dalton, Ohio.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High Street, Waynesburg, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 19, with the Rev. Ron Geisler officiating. Entombment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township. Condolences may be offered at www.behmfh.com.
