Josephine Kathryn Palmer Crane, 91, of Morgantown, W.Va., formerly of Aleppo, died at 2 a.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2013, in her home.
She was born May 16, 1922, in Allister, Wetzel County, W.Va., a daughter of the late John Elmer and Kittie B. Henderson Vandine.
Mrs. Crane was a resident of Greene County for most of her life, prior to moving to Morgantown in 2006.
She attended Church of the Nazarene in Moundsville, W.Va.
Mrs. Crane was a 1940 graduate of Magnolia High School in New Martinsville, W.Va.
She enjoyed crocheting and reading.
Mrs. Crane was employed in home healthcare in Cameron, Moundsville and Wheeling, W.Va., for 30 years, prior to retiring in 1992.
On June 26, 1940, she married Guy Alzie Palmer, who died February 18, 1975. On April 27, 1992, she married Glenn Crane, who died May 15, 2004.
Surviving are a daughter, Loretta Mitchell of Morgantown, W.Va.; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Mike Vandine of Aliquipa; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husbands, are two sons, Thomas G. and Richard L. Palmer; two sisters, Roxie Smith and Franki Rush; and three brothers, John, Issac and David Vandine.
At the request of the family, there will be no public visitation. A public committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 19, in Rush Funeral Home Inc., Rogersville, with the Rev. Vernon K. Berdine officiating.
