Retired Connellsville, Mount Pleasant teacher

Helen L. Kundly, 83, of Greensburg, formerly of Indian Head, died Monday, October 14, 2013, in Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg.

She was born April 7, 1930, in Jeannette, a daughter of the late John L. and Margaret A. Traugh Smith.

Mrs. Kundly was a graduate of Waynesburg College and was a retired teacher, having been employed by Connellsville and Mount Pleasant area school districts.

She was a former member of the Rebekah Lodge and several bowling leagues.

Surviving are a daughter, Diane Horner and husband Thomas of Bobtown; six grandchildren, Michael Kundly and wife Sheena and their child Gage, Stephanie Kundly, Thomas H. Horner III, Lacie Kundly White and her children Brody and Jackson, Madison Lantz Gilroy and Mia Lantz Gilroy; two sisters, Margaret Higuera of Bobtown and Marlene Cairns of Donegal; an aunt, Mabel Kantorik of Acme; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, deceased are her husband, Joseph Kundly; a son, Joel Kundly; a daughter, Tonya Kundly; a grandson, Joseph Hoffer; and a niece, Terri Higuera.

There will be no public viewing. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside gathering at 11 a.m. Monday, October 21, in Porch Cemetery, Donegal Township.
