Kerma Pauline Nordyke, 108, passed away peacefully Monday, October 14, 2013, with her family by her side.
She was born and raised in Coshocton, Ohio, and was a resident of Carmichaels and Waynesburg for many years prior to moving to Friendship Village 26 years ago.
Mrs. Nordyke was the widow of Donald C. Minor, Albert Hoge and Jack Nordyke.
Also deceased is her eldest daughter, Marilyn Strickland.
Surviving are her children, Dr. Robert B. Minor (Janice), Donna J. Carroll (John), Helen D. Ashley and the Rev. John C. Minor (Patricia); 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She taught kindergarten through third grade for 30 years.
Mrs. Nordyke enjoyed music and traveling.
Her love of teaching children, reading and her faith in God sustained her throughout her long life.
Friends are welcome from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of service, Saturday, October 19, in Beinhauer Funeral Home, 2828 Washington Road, McMurray, 724-941-3211.
