Joseph J. Jackovic, 76, of McMurray and Canonsburg, died unexpectedly at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, October 17, 2013, in Canonsburg General Hospital.
He was born July 21, 1937, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Joseph and Nellie Rusiewski Jackovic.
Mr. Jackovic lived his entire life in Canonsburg and McMurray, where he was a 1955 graduate of Peters Township High School.
He served as a corporal with U.S. Marine Corps.
Mr. Jackovic was one of the first Peters Township police officers and for many years was an automotive dealer.
He was a member of St. Patrick Church and St. Benedict the Abbott Church.
Mr. Jackovic leaves behind many friends and his loving family.
On December 31, 1960, he married Amelia June Curtis, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Joseph C. Jackovic (Edrianne) of McMurray; daughter Amy LoBasso (John) of McMurray; five grandchildren, Antoney, Sammy and Nicolla LoBasso and Joslyn and Ellaina Jackovic; mother-in-law Agnes Curtis; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the last of his immediate family.
Deceased are two sisters, Margaret K. Trylko and Doris Hrycko.
