William “Skeeter/Stubby” L. Eckels Jr., 75, of North Jackson, Ohio, formerly of Washington, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2013.
He was born May 16, 1938, in West Finley, a son of the late William L. Sr. and Katherine Morris Eckels.
Mr. Eckels was a graduate of Trinity High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force.
After his service, he worked 32 years at General Motors. He also was a self-employed pig farmer for Eckels and Son.
He enjoyed horse pulling, joking around and giving everyone he knew a nickname. He loved to spend time with his family and follow his grandchildren’s sporting events.
Left to mourn his passing are his loving wife of nearly 49 years, Margaret “Ann” Sherry Eckels; a son, William “Jake” (Patty) Eckels of North Jackson; daughters Kathryn (David) Beatty of Berlin Center, Ohio, Jacqueline (Raymond) Budrevich of Niles, Ohio, and Rebecca Eckels and Kevin Hood of North Jackson.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are his mothers-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and a nephew.
Arrangements were entrusted to Lane Family Funeral Home, Austintown Chapel, Ohio. Interment was held in North Jackson Cemetery.
