Robert L. Beatty Jr, 89, of Bedford, Ohio, and formerly of Ronco, died Wednesday, October 16, 2013, in Bedford Medical Center.
He was born on March 26, 1924, in Ronco, a son of the late Robert Lee and Martha Yates Beatty.
Mr. Beatty served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of Shepard Road Christian Church, Macedonia, Ohio. He received a 50-year meritorious award as a member of Ashlar Lodge 639, F.&A.M., Macedonia.
On June 12, 1945, Mr. Beatty married Margaret E. Provance, who died on November 11, 2008.
Surviving are two sons, Barry L. Beatty and his wife, Terry, of Macedonia and Robert E. Beatty and his wife, Cindy, of Carmichaels; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, O. Jean Strube of Carmichaels; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m.. Tuesday in Yoskovich Funeral Home, Martin J. Yoskovich, funeral director, 300 South Vine Street, Route 88, Carmichaels. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 23, in Church Hill Cemetery, McClellandtown. The Rev. P. Keith Larson will officiate. Military honors will be accorded by Cumberland American Legion Post 400, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3491 and the U.S. Navy.
