Beloved wife, mother and grandmother
Shirley M. Wurst, 85, of Bethel Park, died Saturday, October 19, 2013.
She was the beloved wife of the late George and the loving mother of Marsha (Al) Stramiello, Christine (Robert) Zacoi, Paula Lis, Karen (Ernest) Avolio, Janet (John) Hackel, Lisa (Jim) Nath and the late Warren.
Mrs. Wurst was the dear, sweet grammy of Warren (Katie), Michael, Natalie (Rob), Nicholas, Yuramiah, Jacob, Andrew, Daniel, Allison, Phillip (Meredith), Julianne, Jesse (Chriss), Jamie (Nick), John, Anna, Elise, Sophia, Sarah and the late Alicia. She was also the great-grammy of Wren, Rylee, Maleah, Bryson, Nico, Nolan and Sienna; sister of Esther (the late Bud) Howe, Joan (Don) Manning, James (Dorothy) Wilson and the late Jane Manzi, Joseph (Marlene) Wilson and William Wilson.
“Our mother spent a lifetime devoted to her family,” said her loved ones.
After her husband’s passing, she began working as a secretary for Sam Selario Agency. In her retirement, she continued to celebrate her love of family.
Her kindness, grace and compassion will live on in the lives of those she touched.
Funeral arrangements are by Beinhauers. Friends are welcome from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at 2828 Washington Road, McMurray. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 23, in St. Valentine Church, Bethel Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children, 201 North Bellefield, Pittsburgh, PA 15213.
