RCA retiree volunteered in Central Christian Academy

Pearl Rendziak Barbosky, 91, died Friday, October 18, 2013, in South Carolina.

She lived almost all of her life in Canonsburg.

Mrs. Barbosky retired from RCA in Meadow Lands after many years of service.

After her retirement, she volunteered for more than 10 years in the office at Central Christian Academy.

Known to many as “Miss Pearl,” she will also be remembered by many students for her willingness to listen while they practiced reading.

Surviving are a son, Frank A. Barbosky (Theresa) of South Carolina; a sister, Ann Geary of Maryland; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Deceased are her beloved husband, Frank Barbosky; parents Peter and Anna Rendziak; and siblings Rose Griffith, Mary Melaney, John and Joseph Rendziak.

Friends are welcome from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Freyvogel-Slater Funeral Directors, 112 Fort Couch Road (across from Macy’s in South Hills Village), Bethel Park, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 24. In lieu of flowsers, donations may be sent in Mrs. Barbosky’s memory to Kingston Nursing Center Activities Dept., 2379 Cypress Circle, Conway, SC 29526.
