Thomas G. Harper, M.D., 84, of Paris, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2013, in his home, after a lengthy illness.
He was born October 6, 1929, in Cleveland, Ohio, a son of the late Raymond and Elizabeth Kinavey Harper.
Dr. Harper was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Harper.
He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and a 1955 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, a member of Pitt Alumni Association and a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Dr. Harper was a primary care family practitioner for 55 years, with his office located in Paris. In recent years he also had been the medical director of the former EZ Care, Weirton, W.Va. Most recently, he was employed with Matthew A. Nardone, D.C., at Ohio Valley Optimal Healthcare, Weirton.
Surviving are his wife, Renate Holzmann Harper; daughters Karen Krenzin, Dr. Sandra Harper-Posey and Linda Snelling; a sister, Elizabeth Hooper of Dublin, Ireland; and many grandchildren.
There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148. Arrangements have been entrusted to Steel & Wolfe Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., Weirton.
