Frank M. Carson
Veteran, plumber, All-Clad retiree
Frank M. Carson, 91, of Washington, died Tuesday, October 22, 2013, in Donnell House, Washington.
He was born April 26, 1922, in Coal Center, a son of the late Herman and Irene Allman Carson.
Mr. Carson served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Following military service, he worked on the railroad in Western Pennsylvania.
On September 30, 1950, he married Caroline Lanik in Bentleyville.
He then became a plumber in the Pittsburgh area, working on buildings such as the University of Pittsburgh’s Cathedral of Learning and the United States’ first commercial nuclear power reactor in Shippingport. He later worked and retired from All-Clad Metalcrafters, where he was a foreman.
Mr. Carson was a member of Houston United Methodist Church and was a member of Chartiers Lodge 297 F&AM in Canonsburg.
Surviving family members are Mrs. Caroline Carson; a son, Barry E. Carson of Simi Valley, Calif.; a daughter, Karen (Richard) Torre of McDonald; two grandchildren, Steven and Carrie Ann Torre; several nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Jacqueline Carson of Washington.
Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. A memorial service will be announced. Piatt and Barnhill Funeral Directors Inc., Charles R. Piatt, owner/supervisor, and Lawrence K. Donovan, funeral director.
