Anne L. Bennett, 74, of North Fayette Township, died Monday, October 27, 2013, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
She was born August 11, 1939, in Alabama, a daughter of the late Charles W. and Allie Mae Johnson Ray.
Ms. Bennett was a utility worker with U.S. Airways at Greater Pittsburgh Airport, retiring in 2001.
She was a member of McDonald Food Bank, First Baptist Church in McDonald and the Church Missionary Society.
Ms. Bennett enjoyed her grandchildren and children, cooking, shopping, traveling and gardening both flowers and vegetables, but her passion was taking care of others.
Surviving are two daughters, Beth A. (Michael A.) Carter of Wilmington, Del., and Barbie L. Bennett of New Castle, Del.; two sons, Bruce A. Bennett of New Kensington and Brian K. Bennett of Bulger; two sisters, T. Nell Williams of Pittsburgh and Anna Ruth Ray of Woodbridge, Va.; father of her children, LeRoy H. Bennett of Midway; five grandchildren, Allen C. Bennett, Alisha M. Bennett, Andrea L. Bennett, Javier R. Bennett and Mallorie A. Carter; and a great-grandchild, Tyler J. VanKooten
Deceased are four brothers, Charles R., Willie, Edward Ray and Joseph Ray.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of services, Saturday, November 2, in Nation Funeral Home Inc., 220 East Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, with the Rev. Barry Givner, Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church in McDonald, officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Florence.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations for the grandchildren and great-grandchild. Donations are being accepted at any T.D. Bank, the name of the fund is “The Anne L.
