Dairy farmer was member of Center Presbyterian Church

Robert A. Kelso, 91, of Washington, died Wednesday, September 4, 2013, in his home.

He was born June 7, 1922, in Allegheny County, a son of the late George M. and Bessie M. Doughty Kelso, Sr.

Mr. Kelso was a 1941 graduate of North Fayette High School and attended two years at Clarion College.

He worked as a dairy farmer until his retirement in 2006. He began on the Kelso dairy farm in North Fayette Township and following World War II, bought a farm in Mt. Pleasant Township.

Mr. Kelso was a member and past elder of Center Presbyterian Church, Midway, a member of Miller’s Run Grange and a member of Raccoon Cemetery Board.

On April 25, 1953, he married Marjorie W. Cleek, who survives.

Surviving are many nieces and nephews.

Deceased are two brothers, Mark M. and Donald M. Kelso; and two sisters, Sara F. Plance and Betty F. Scott.

Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in Nation Funeral Home Inc., 220 East Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 7, with the Rev. Brian Kilbert, pastor of Center Presbyterian Church, Midway, officiating. Burial will follow in Raccoon Cemetery, Candor. The family suggests memorial contributions to Center Presbyterian Church, Midway.
