Compassionate person loved animals, nature
Joy Lynn Krosunger, 44, of Carmichaels, passed away Thursday, September 5, 2013, in Donnell House, Washington, where she fought her battle with cancer.
She was born February 22, 1969, in Waynesburg, a daughter of Gerald A. Krosunger and Linda C. Phillips Kovach. Her stepfather is James C. Kovach.
Ms. Krosunger was a 1987 graduate of Jefferson-Morgan High School. She enjoyed serving as a majorette and silk and also worked as an office aide.
She attended John Cassablanca’s Modeling School in Monroeville during her senior year and enjoyed studying dance. After high school, she attended Waynesburg College and transferred to St. Ambrose University in Iowa. She studied business administration and political science. She moved to Islamorada in the Florida Keys and was employed by Bass Pro Shops. She recently worked for Gentile Security Co. the past two years. She enjoyed living near the ocean, boating, fishing and had visited the Cayman Islands and the Bahamas. She also enjoyed traveling to New York City, Las Vegas and her favorite beaches. She had attended First Christian Church of Carmichaels and was baptized there prior to moving to Florida.
Ms. Krosunger was a compassionate person and loved animals and nature. Her favorite painting was “Starry Starry Night,” by Vincent van Gogh, and her favorite song was “Vincent,” which her mom sang to her each night while battling the illness.
Surviving, in addition to her parents are, her twins, Dylan and Devan; three stepbrothers, David Kovach, Jeffrey Kovach and Matt Kovach; two half sisters, Ashley and Susan; and her maternal grandmother, Wilma Phillips.
Deceased are her maternal grandfather, A. Lee Phillips, and her paternal grandparents, George and Ruby Krosunger.
She will be remembered and loved by all of her aunts, uncles, cousins, her many friends and her adorable cat, Angie.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of her life at 7 p.m. Monday, September 9, in Yoskovich Funeral Home, 724-966-5500, Martin J. Yoskovich, funeral director, 300 South Vine Street (Route 88), Carmichaels, led by the Rev. Reagan Fike.
