Herman Pierson Sr., 77, of West Alexander, died Wednesday, September 11, 2013, in Canonsburg General Hospital.
He was born January 29, 1936, in Washington, a son of Beaugard and Mary Tolland Pierson.
Mr. Pierson worked at Tri-State Engineering as an arc welder.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved to watch boxing on television.
On September 17, 1959, he married Gladys Darlene Anderson, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Herman (Pam) Pierson Jr. of Houston; a sister, Betty Bird of Washington; four grandchildren, Amy and Jimmy Nixon and Rikki D. and Chase Pierson; and two great-grandchildren, Alayna Whewell and Aiden Pierson.
Deceased are a daughter, Barbara Jo Pierson; four brothers, Gardy, Jim, Cliff and Fred Pierson; and six sisters, Edith Smith, Rosa Kenimond, Goldie Durbin, Mary E. Bilby, Bertie Moritz and Jean Lindley.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 14. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
