Avid trap shooter and deer hunter

Charles E. Hull Jr., 94, of Prosperity, formerly of Carmichaels, died Friday, September 13, 2013, in Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg.

Mr. Hull was born October 29, 1918, in Hopwood, a son of the late Charles B. and Elizabeth Rhodes Hull.

He lived most of his life in the Carmichaels area, where he was a dairy farmer for almost 30 years. He was also a retired coal miner at Consol’s Kirby Mine.

Mr. Hull was an avid trap shooter and deer hunter. He was a member and president of the Stringtown Sportsman’s Club and a member of the United Mine Workers of America.

On May 29, 1937, he married Mary Parchetta, who died January 16, 2005.

Surviving are a son, John Hull and wife Joyce of Ravenna, Ohio; a son-in-law, Dan Titchenell of Prosperity, with whom he had made his home; five grandchildren, Charles E. Hull, Dan Titchenell Jr., Don Titchenell, Renee Anderson and Tammy Jones; 11 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marie Harshman of Jefferson.

Deceased, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, JoAnn Titchenell and a daughter in infancy, Linda Carol Hull; a grandson, Michael K. Hull; a sister, Violet “Dolly” Broadwater; and three brothers, Lloyd “Mike” Hull, Colley “Bud” Hull and Robert Hull.

Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to noon, the hour of services, Monday, September 16, in Behm Funeral Home Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, with the Rev. Harold O. Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at www.behm-funeralhomes.com.
