Dale Lyle
Loving family man was self-employed carpenter
Dale Lyle, 84, of Claysville, died Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at 5:11 a.m. in his home.
He was born January 2, 1929, in Taylorstown, a son of the late Clifford B. and Nina Stewart Lyle.
Mr. Lyle was a 1947 graduate of Trinity High School.
He was an elder and member of Taylorstown Christian Church for over 50 years. He most recently attended North Ten Mile Baptist Church.
Mr. Lyle was a self-employed carpenter/contractor. He also worked in the family business, C.B. Lyle & Sons, and was later self-employed as Lyle Contractors, until his retirement. He was a member of Washington Camp Gideons International, Masonic Lodge 447 of Claysville, where he was the Master of the Lodge in 1961, and a member of White Camp in Emporium.
He was a loving family man, enjoying his many years of marriage with his wife, and had many years of meaningful fun and happy times with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
On April 15, 1949, he married Jane S. Six Lyle, who survives.
Also surviving are his children; a son, Dennis (Nancy Litman) Lyle of Claysville; three daughters, Shirley (Michael) Sanders of Prosperity, Phyllis (Bob) Adkins of Taylorstown and Nancy (Alex) Moore of Washington; a brother, Charles (Deloris) Lyle of Taylorstown; seven grandchildren, Melody (Shawn) Phillips, Jonathan (Tricia) Sanders, Angela Sanders, Rebecca Adkins, Christopher (Brandy) Lyle, Melissa Clark and Darrin Lyle; 14 great-grandchildren, Nathan, Jacob, Aaron, Jordan, Karoline, Lucas, David, Caleb, Kaitlyn, Georgie, Andrew, Grayson, Jeremy and Austin; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Lyle was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Lyle, and a grandson, Benjamin Adkins.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., Wilson at E. Katherine Avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, September 20, in the funeral home with Brother Gary Schneider and Dr. Bonnie Thurston, a family member, co-officiating.
