Ruth H. Lauffer, 93, of North Huntingdon, died Sunday, September 22, 2013, in the home of her daughter in Eighty Four.

Born February 12, 1920, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late James and Anna Schneider Hemminger.

In addition to being a homemaker, Mrs. Lauffer worked for Gateway School District.

She was a member of Norwin Alliance Church, North Huntingdon, where she was an organizer of the Keen-Agers.

Surviving are daughters Ruth Ann Nicholls and husband Chuck of Eighty Four and Robin Joy Hanig and husband David of Ligonier; a mentored son, Chuckie Marks of Georgia; grandchildren Joy Lynn Van Cleve and husband Frank and Lauren Joy Hanig; great-grandchildren Kayla, Justin and Krista Huffman; and nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her husband of 63 years, Woodrow “Woody” Lauffer; a son, Harry Wilson Lauffer; a grandson-in-law, Richie Huffman; and siblings.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, the time of service, in William Snyder Funeral Home, 521 Main St., Irwin, with the Rev. Robert Daniels officiating. Interment will follow at Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park.
