Chef, hostess, animal-lover

Okhui Ahn, 41, of McMurray, passed away suddenly, Tuesday, September 24, 2013.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, beloved daughter, Kira Scammell; soul mate, John Barney; adored son, Jake Barney; sister Oksun Ahn; nephew José Ahn; mother-in-law, Patricia Barney; sisters-in-law, Molly Cummings and Theresa McCall; treasured friend Ali Biernesser; and many dear friends.

Ms. Ahn also leaves behind her Boston Terrier companion, Harley.

Ms. Ahn had a big heart and touched many lives with her positive and loving personality.

She was a chef and enjoyed being a hostess at gatherings. As an animal lover, she was involved with Washington Area Humane Society.

“Okhui had a gentle, dear spirit,” said Biernesser. “The strength and richness of her heart could be felt in her hugs and was evident on her beautiful face.”

Above all, she was a mother, soul mate and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Friends are welcome 12 to 3 p.m. Saturday, September 28, the times of service, at Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray.
