Frederick T. Anderson, 75, of Washington, died at 2:43 p.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2013, in Washington Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born June 7, 1938, in Washington, a son of the late Leonard and Dorothy Thomas Anderson.
Mr. Anderson attended Washington High School. He was employed at Jessop Steel for 37 years, until his retirement.
He loved watching television and enjoyed shooting pool.
Mr. Anderson was married for 42 years to Jean I. Burgess Anderson, who survives. Also surviving are his children: daughter Valerie Anderson of Washington, daughter Denise (Joseph) Chandler of Washington, son Kevin (Michele) Anderson of Washington, son Todd (Elaine) Goins of Cuddy, daughter Rhonda King of Virginia, son Jon Wise of Washington and daughter Juanita (James) Thomas of New Mexico; a sister, Maureen Makokle of Canonsburg; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, is a brother, Clyde Wheeler.
At the request of Mr. Anderson, there will be no public viewing. His family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., the time of service, Monday, September 30, in Wright Memorial AME Zion Church, 150 North Lincoln Street, Washington. The Rev. Louis Ridgley will officiate. The public is welcome to attend. Burial will be private.
