George E. Bobko
Veteran was retired U.S. Post Office employee
George E. Bobko, 78, of Mather, died Saturday, February 1, 2014, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
He was born April 7, 1935, in German Township, Fayette County, a son of the late John and Anna Urbany Bobko.
Mr. Bobko was a retired U.S. Post Office employee in Waynesburg, with more than 35 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Bobko was a member of St. Marcellus Roman Catholic Church of Jefferson, where he also served as custodian for several years.
On November 4, 1961, he married Dolores Severini, who survives. Also surviving a brother, Stephen J. Bobko of Farmville, Va., and several nieces and nephews.
A public Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 4, in St. Marcellus R.C. Church, Jefferson, with Father J. Francis Frazer as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township. Graveside military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post 954, Jefferson, and the U.S. Army.
