Enjoyed singing and playing the guitar

Samuel D. Yeager Sr., 52, of McDonald, died Friday, January 31, 2014.

He was born September 13, 1961, in Portland, Ore., a son of the late Earl C. and Betty J. Hayden Yeager.

Mr. Yeager was a journeyman machinist for Cannon Tool in Canonsburg for 24 years. He was a member of Muse Italian Club. He coached Hickory girls softball and enjoyed singing and playing the guitar.

On September 25, 1993, he married Jeannina “Nina” Liggitt, who survives.

Also surviving are a son, Samuel D. (Melinda) Yeager Jr. of McDonald; two daughters, Shelby Yeager of McDonald and Erica Yeager of Maryland; a sister, Debra Yeager of Washington; four brothers, Michael and William Yeager of Texas, Greg Yeager of Mississippi and Donald Yeager of Washington; and three grandchildren, Ava, Violet and Zach Yeager.

Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., the time of service, Tuesday, February 4, in Nation Funeral Home Inc., 218 East Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, PA 15057. Memorial contributions can be made to American Cancer Society, 331 South Main Street, Washington, PA 15301.
