Immaculate Conception Church lifelong member

Gina Raffaeli, 84, of Washington, died Tuesday, February 4, 2014, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a three-week illness.

She was born August 3, 1929, in Washington, a daughter of the late Arturo and Rosina Palamone Raffaeli.

Miss Raffaeli was a lifelong member of Immaculate Conception Church, where she was very active. She was a 1946 graduate of Washington High School and a 1948 graduate of Washington Seminary.

She was employed at RCA for many years and at the Office of the Recorder of Deeds at the Washington County Courthouse, until her retirement.

Miss Raffaeli was a member of the Democratic Women, the RCA Retirement Club and the Immaculate Conception Friendship Club. She enjoyed traveling along with her nieces and nephews. They were the love of her life. She was very involved with her nieces and nephews and was like a mother to all of them.

She was the last of her immediate family.

Surviving are her five nieces, Lisa (Larry) Moore of Washington, Nancy (Valen) Kokinakis of Maryland, Mary Louise (Tom) Barnes of South Carolina, Margaret (Patrick) Viccaro of Sewickley, and Ann Marie Raffaeli of Ohio; five nephews, John (Cathleen) Raffaeli Jr. of Connecticut, David (Laura) Raffaeli of Maryland, Robert Raffaeli of Ohio, Frank (Debbie) Raffaeli of Texas and Steve Raffaeli of Maryland; sister-in-law Ruth Raffaeli of Ohio; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Deceased are two brothers, Gildo Raffaeli and John Raffaeli Sr.; two sisters Palmina Raffaeli and Dora Parisse; a sister-in-law, Peggy Raffaeli; and brother-in-law Anthony Parisse.

Friends will be received from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., the time of a prayer service, Friday in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., Wilson at E. Katherine avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Washington, with Fr. Lou Pascazi as celebrant. Burial will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray.
