Loved spending time with grandchildren
Mae Bertha Thomas, 61, of Franklin Township, Greene County, died unexpectedly at 9:25 p.m. Thursday, February 6, 2014, in Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg.
She was born May 15, 1952, in Spraggs, a daughter of the late Melvin Burdette and Blanche Olive Yoho Moniger, and resided in the Waynesburg area for most of her life.
Mrs. Thomas was a 1970 graduate of West Greene High School.
She was a member of Chapter 123 of Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars, both of Waynesburg.
Mrs. Thomas enjoyed riding horses and motorcycles, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
On March 31, 1989, she married Paul “Sonny” Robert Thomas Jr., who survives.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are three daughters, Carolyn Fox, companion of Jim Mortin, and Christine Corwin, both of Carmichaels, and Tracy, wife of Gary McDonald, of Waynesburg; two sons, Robert “Bob,” husband of Angela Moniger, of Waynesburg and Paul “Rob” III, husband of Melissa Thomas, of Carmichaels; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a sister, Kathryn, wife of Harold Newman, of Graysville; and a brother, Kenneth, husband of Chris Moniger, of Smithfield.
Deceased, in addition to her parents, is a brother, Dennis Russell Moniger.
Friends will received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Rush Funeral Home Inc., Rogersville, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 10, with Pastor Melissa Geisler officiating.
