Samuel E. Markish III, 26, of Cherry Valley, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 8, 2014.
He was born January 29, 1988, a son of the late Samuel E. Markish Jr. and Tina Louise McKee Markish.
A 2006 graduate of Burgettstown High School, he worked for The Meadows Racetrack & Casino, and was a tool and dye maker for Triumph Interiors Inc. in Oakdale.
He was baptized in and attended Atlasburg First Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed woodworking, motorcycles and Fox Racing.
Mr. Markish was raised by his paternal grandparents, Samuel E. Markish III and Justine Ruskowski Markish of Cherry Valley.
Surviving, in addition to his paternal grandparents, are his brother, Matthew Thomas Markish of Cherry Valley; two uncles, Steven Markish and wife Connie of Atlasburg and Robert Markish and wife Marcie of Clinton; his aunt, Pamela Markish of Burgettstown; nine cousins, Steven, David, Melissa and Jennifer Markish, Marah and Malia Ragan, Joseph Crisco and William and Maranda Markish; and his maternal grandmother, Shirley Cox of Slovan.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, is his maternal grandfather, John “Sunny” McKee.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 13. Interment will be held in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory, at a later date.
