Frank Wood Bryan Sr., 81 , of Statesville, N.C., died Sunday, February 2, 2014, in Gordon Hospice House.
Mr. Bryan was born April 1, 1932, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Frank J. and Kathryn Hoskinson Bryan. He was retired after 25 years of service with the U.S. Postal Service and had also worked for many years at the family business, Bryan’s Dairy.
He had his private pilot license and when health permitted, enjoyed flying and traveling, as well as swimming and boating with family and friends. He loved building model airplanes and was an avid reader. He was Methodist.
Surviving are his wife, Lois Wiltrout Bryan, whom he married January 20, 1951; a daughter, Gloria J. (Andrew) Kuhar of Washington; three sons, Frank W. (Tammy) Bryan Jr. of Waynesburg, John(Lisa) Bryan of Mooresville, N.C., and Andy (Ronda) Bryan of Richmond, Va.; a sister, Betty Bryan Leskosky of Carmichaels; eight grandchildren, Shawn Elza, Frankie Bryan, Lee Bryan, Tyler Bryan, Amber Bryan, Seth Bryan, Carly Bryan and Caroline Bryan; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, deceased are an infant daughter, Patricia, and a grandson, Darryl Elza.
