Alan R. Ruskin, 68, passed away Monday, February 3, 2014, in Aultman Hospital, Canton, Ohio, surrounded by his loving family, following an extended illness.
He was born August 13, 1945, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, the eighth of nine children born to Karl Sr. and Kathryn Crider Ruskin.
Mr. Ruskin is a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, who honorably served his country in the Vietnam War. He was a member of Louisville Eagles No. 2374, American Legion Post No. 548, Legion Color Guard and Louisville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 7490.
Surviving are his son, Christopher (Melody) Ruskin of West Virginia; brothers Jerry (Nancy) Ruskin of Brilliant, Ohio, and Tom (Tammy) Ruskin of Louisville, Ohio; sister Kathy McFarland of Zanesville, Ohio; grandson Christopher; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are sisters Carol Bumgarner, Kitty Kimble and Mary Delaney, and brothers Karl Jr., Donald and Ed.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no public services are planned at this time. Interment with full military honors will take place at a later date. Condolences and special memories may be shared at www.heritagecremation.com.
