First Presbyterian Church member loved music

Clara Rose Jalosky Josephites, 91, of Bentleyville, died Friday morning, February 14, 2014, in Mon Valley Care Center, Monongahela.

She was born July 5, 1922, in Donora, a daughter of Frank and Mary Winkowski Jalosky.

A homemaker, she also worked as a waitress at the former Abbandini’s Restaurant in Bentleyville.

Mrs. Josephites attended First Presbyterian Church and was a former member of American Legion Post 165 Ladies Auxiliary, a Golden Star Sister and Fraternal Order of Eagles 1809 Ladies Auxiliary, all of Bentleyville.

She had a love of music. In the 1940s, she and her sisters, Helen and Mary Ann, had a trio and sang at local venues.

On January 30, 1947, she married Thomas P. Josephites, who died March 3, 1995.

Surviving are daughters Judith Spinda (Daniel) of Bentleyville and Janet Duvall (David) of Somerset; grandchildren Wesley Armstrong (Lisa), Wendy Armstrong Yantek (David) and Daniel Spinda (Julie); six great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Jared and Allyson Yantek, Danilo Spinda and Kenneth and Nina Jesko; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are six brothers and three sisters.
