Myrle E. Robinson, 88, of Dilliner, died Thursday, February 13, 2014, in Madison Center, Morgantown, W.Va.
She was born September 25, 1925, in Uffington, W.Va., a daughter of the late James E. and Susie Jane Bissett Allum.
Mrs. Robinson was a faithful, lifelong member of Apostolic Church. At the time of her death, she was attending Christian Life Center in Old Frame and was a member of Bobtown Senior Citizens and ASCME Union.
She worked hard all her life, first as a seamstress and inspector for Gateway Shirt Factory and later in housekeeping at West Virginia University. After her retirement, she was a private home health aide for a number of families in the area. She had a sweet and gentle spirit and was always willing to help in any way she could.
Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Kay Robinson, whom she married February 12, 1949; two sons, Richard Robinson and wife Judy and Eric Robinson, both of Dilliner; four grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lola Lewis of Dilliner; and a brother, Gary Allum of Youngstown, Ohio.
Deceased are two sons, John, in infancy, and Philip D. Robinson, who died December 2, 2013; three brothers, James, Enlo and Daniel Allum; and a sister, Mary Ellen Southerland.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and until 11 a.m., the time of service, Tuesday, February 18, in Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, Point Marion, Philip S. Rishel, owner/director, with the Rev. Stoney Cottrell officiating. Interment will follow in Wolf’s Cemetery, Dilliner.
