Laurel Y. Ragland, 48, of Imperial, died Saturday, February 15, 2014, in UPMC Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Miss Ragland was born June 17, 1965, in McDonald, a daughter of Marcella Ragland of McDonald.
She was a graduate of Fort Cherry High School and Duquesne University. She was the chief financial officer for UPMC Children’s Hospital.
Miss Ragland was a member of First Baptist Church of McDonald, where she was active in many of the church functions and also provided treasury reports for the church. She was one of the 50 women of excellence.
Surviving, in addition to her mother, are brothers and sisters Rhonda (Ted) Freeman of Florida, Dru E. Ragland of McDonald, Steffanie Ragland of Georgia and Christopher W. Ragland of Florida; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Thomas-Little Funeral Service Inc., 314 West Lincoln Avenue, McDonald, 724-926-2800. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 19, in First Baptist Church, 143 North McDonald Street, McDonald. Everyone is asked to please meet at the church.
